Salwan and Sports have been the two sides of the same coin in the field of education since decades now. All the schools, running under the aegis of Salwan Education Trust endeavours to generate a sporting regime in the students by providing a platform to promote and nurture talent and inspire the young sports-stars to rise and shine. 

The sports policy followed by Salwan Education Trust believes in the 5 S of sports training: Stamina, Speed, Strength, skills and Spirit. At primary level, Salwan Junior School, Naraina, organised “Abhivyakti 2023: The Annual Sports Event and Cultural Fiesta” at Salwan Public School, Rajender Nagar on Sunday, 29th October 2023. The event was marked with magnum opus opening with Ganesh Vandana, a beautiful rendition by the Swaranjali- School Choir group, followed by torch relay with announcement of the opening act of the day! The Welcome Address rendered by Ms. Sonia Wadhwa, Head of the School ignited the spark for the day and filled the air with anticipation for the day. It was well fuelled by the students who displayed exemplary skills, unparalleled focus, consistency, dedication and strong determination via multifarious events like yoga, gymnastics, martial arts, skating, followed by athletic races and group drills.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts. The message was rightly depicted by all participants in myriad of events, colourful costumes and stupendous display of folk dances of India highlighted with sporting talents from Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab and Telangana with cultural infusion of display of tableaus.

The enormous turnout of the parents added to the happy cheers, the joys of winning and rightly provided the motivation needed by the budding sportsmen. The Chief Guest: Sh. Ojas Pravin Deotale, World Archery Champion beautifully summarised how hard work is the only key to sharp focus, perseverance and dedication. This was amplified by the Honourable Guest of Honour: Sh. Paramjit Khanna, CA, Secretary, Salwan Education Trust. He encouraged the children to stride further in the field of sports for healthy progression of mind, body and soul. 

The event stood true to its spirit when not only the Salwanians, but parents and teachers and Multi-Tasking Staff, also joined and participated in flat races and tug of war. The excitement and enthusiasm reached its height with everyone being a sport on the ground!

The Honourable Chairman of the School: Sh. Micheal Dias weaved the entire event at the closing ceremony with his inspiring words of encouragement for the efforts put in by the students and staff of the school. He guided everyone to keep up the spirit of the day and keep the sportsmen in each of us alive and kicking.

Further, Mr. Annu Juneja, the Parent Representative- SJS, Naraina concluded the day with his positive and healthy feedback of the event and shared his thorough happiness, controlled emotions and poised words.
