In the words of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru,” I have seen the institutions established by Salwan Sahib; that a refugee can build such imposing edifices, is both a pleasant surprise and very encouraging. I see a wonderful life which is rarely seen in these troubled days, throbbing in these institutions and their founder.”
What a glorious tribute can we pay and reminisce about the work and wonders done by the great visionary and philanthropist, the founder father of Salwan Education Trust- Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan. He, who left a rich legacy of more than 81 years old in the name of Salwan Group of Schools is a name to reckon with not only in the education sector but across the free Indi as well.
To commemorate the first foundation stone laid eight decades ago, Salwan Education Trust celebrated Founder’s Day on December 5th 2022. Every nine of the Salwan institutions celebrated the revered occasion with Hawan Ceremony to bless the school and its stakeholders. Salwan Junior School, Naraina, also reminisce the work of the Founder Father by commencing with paying homage to Pandit ji, followed by Ganesh Vandana by the School Choir. This progressed further with a Hawan conducted in the school premise by the student community, in participation of the staff.
This was broadcasted live for the parent community who could not attend it physically, but was in full attendance virtually and participated in invoking the blessings of the Almighty.
The vision and mission of “Service Before Self” echoed throughout the premises of the school. Following the footsteps of the valuable heritage and imbibing from the indomitable spirit of Panditji will always be honoured and cherished by the Salwanians.
