To kindle the poetic flair among the Salwanians of Class III, an Inter class poetry competition was organized within the school campus on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. The competition was conducted in two rounds. The first round, witnessed all students participating in full vigor and enthusiasm to recite the self-composed poems on the themes like -Love, Happiness, New Year and Our world. The participants recited the poems with a lot of clarity, confidence and pronunciation. The sixteen finalists shortlisted, after the elimination round were given enough practice to prepare for the finals.
The final round of the competition was conducted on February 1, 2023. Children exhibited their talent and confidence with excitement and happiness, reflecting the themes of their poems. The participants of grade III left no stone unturned to showcase their speaking and presentation skills in front of the judges. Students were judged on parameters like content of the poem, pronunciation and clarity in speech along with confidence.
The judges had a hard time finalising the winners, amongst many best orators. However, the following participants were awarded with:
- First Position– Reyansh Garg of III-B
- Second Position-Ayesha Afroz and Kartik Sachdeva of III-A
- Third Position- Saanchi Keswani of III-B
- Consolation positions– Kaira Dhawan of III-B and Chitrangana Rathi III-A.
The school principal, Ms. Sonia Wadhwa appreciated and applauded the performance of all the participants and encouraged them to continue to compose poems and stories thereby honing their linguistic skills. The respective English faculty and department was appreciated as well to continue to organise such events to provide students the chance to present their work in best possible manner.
