Diwali Assembly

“All the lights of the world cannot be compared to a ray of the inner light of self, merge yourself in this light and enjoy the supreme festival of Diwali”

Diwali is one of the major festivals celebrated all over India. It generally symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”.

A special assembly was conducted in the school premises by students of Class II on Friday, 21st October 2022. The assembly began with a poem recitation on Diwali: the festival of lights. Thereafter, the students of class II performed a role-play on the importance of “sharing and giving”. The role-play was followed by a poem on helping the needy and underprivileged. Thereafter, the choir group of class II presented a song – “Ae Diwali aayi re”. The soulful song and the divine spirit with which the students sang made the whole environment happy and cheerful.

This was followed by a dialogue between two students of class II on the effects of pollution on the elderly and children. The importance of celebrating green Diwali was inculcated through a video and a poem. Afterwards, students of class II performed the ‘Diya dance”, holding diyas. It was a mesmerizing performance.

The programme culminated with a pledge where all the students promised to celebrate green Diwali and not to burn firecrackers. The school principal, Ms. Sonia Wadhwa, appreciated the efforts of the students and gave her best wishes to the students.
