Guru Nanak Dev ji was the first of the ten Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikhism. His birth anniversary is observed as ‘Gurpurab’ across the globe. Guru Nanak travelled widely to spread the message of oneness and compassion.
This year Guru Nanak Jayanti was celebrated virtually with all classes on the 18th November 2021. To observe this auspicious occasion, a Special Assembly was conducted by the students of Class I. The students dressed in traditional Sikh attire and the assembly commenced with Mool Matra followed by a virtual tour to a Gurdwara. Some students shared useful information related to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Finally the ‘Ek Onkar’ prayer was chanted by the students in reverence and homage.
All the class teachers concluded the assemblies in their respective classes and shared the video put together by the students of Class I. Teachers appreciated the children’s performance virtually and encouraged the students to follow what Guru Nanak Dev ji taught and lived for.
Parents were also requested to prepare Kadha Prasad to be given to the children after the assembly.
