“If death strikes before I prove my blood, I swear I’ll kill death”, said Param Veer Chakra recipient, Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey.
Through the Online platform Salwan Junior Public School, Naraina, celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas. The morning of 26th July 2021 was indeed special and significant as everyone gathered on zoom to be a part of this special occasion, to acknowledge the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and pay a tribute to Indian army and its undying efforts for the safety and security of the country.
The programme began with Vande Matram followed by the esteemed Principle Ms Anuradha Mathur address to the students and welcome the guest of honour Kargil war veteran, Group Captain Ajit Kumar Gurtu.
He highlighted the values of an Army Person who are highly motivated, dedicated with self-belief to defend their country. He also shed light on his motivation to join the Indian Army and also propagated the students to think about becoming a soldier to defend the pride and respect of their country. He ended his note on-
“shaheedon kee chitaon par lagenge har baras mele vatan par marane vaalon ka yahee baakee nishaan hoga”.
The students gave a presentation on the Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict. It was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control (LOC). In India, the conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay which was the name of the Indian operation to clear the Kargil sector. To commemorate the sacrifices of our brave hearts, Kargil Victory Day or Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated nation-wide on 26 July every year.
The students enacted to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil diwas like Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja, Captain Vikram Batra. The program culminated with the school choir. The students saluted the brave hearts and ended on a note of “Bharat Mata ke Jai”.
