Teacher’s Day Celebration

“Teachers can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges.”

 –Joyce Meyer

Teachers are called many things: educators, mentors, instructors, and sometimes the accidental mom. No matter what they are called, we can all agree that they truly have a gift of influencing lives both inside and outside of their classroom.

Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year to show that the devotion, hard work, and eternal positivity of a teacher never goes unnoticed. The day is also celebrated to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of the country and a visionary educator. The students of Salwan Junior School enthusiastically participated in the celebrations of Teacher’s Day with a string of surprises they planned for their teachers.

The Welcome speech was given by the senior students of the school wherein they mentioned that teachers are the awe-inspiring, rock stars of education. They work tirelessly to enrich the lives of the next generation. The students expressed their love by presenting each teacher with beautiful hand-made cards and green plants. The cards had beautiful poetry for each teacher describing her unique qualities and skills.

Group songs and dances were done by the students of junior and senior classes. Each musical item had a message that the duties undertaken by teachers in the upbringing of children is immense and thus being recognized with teachers’ day is a step towards recognizing the profession and the role they play in society.

The vote of thanks was given by the head of the school wherein she thanked all the teachers and mentioned that a teacher is someone who acts as a guide and inspiration to people – both young and old. She is charged with the responsibility of creating awareness as well as opening the mind of people by instilling values, morals, and ethics.
