National Girl Child Day

“We must save and educate girl child to make our future happy and bright.”

To celebrate the girl child, students and staff of Salwan Junior School, Naraina celebrated National Girl Child Day on Tuesday, 24th January 2023.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Government of India in 2008, proposed the celebration of National Girl Child Day to spread awareness about the need and importance of respecting, educating and giving equal rights and opportunities to the girls. Keeping in mind the objective of apprising the young students with the significance of equality for girl child, the day was celebrated with great excitement in the school premises.

School Head, Ma’am Sonia Wadhwa talked about the importance of celebration Rashtriya Balika Diwas and giving the little angels equal opportunities to perform and participate and mesmerize everyone with their skills and talents. Children also expressed their views on the values of celebrating and empowering the girl child associated with this day. A poster making activity was carried out for the students of Classes IV and V wherein beautiful posters were designed and created by the children with thought provoking messages and slogans to save and respect the girl child.
